Health and Safety

The safety of our people, contractors, the surrounding community and environment stands as a fundamental priority for Anchorage. A robust safety culture is deeply ingrained value that influences operations.

The initial phase of site safety planning involves comprehensive site visits, thorough discussions with clients, engineers, and staff, followed by the formulation of a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS). This critical document breaks down each step of the project with precision, then identifies the potential risks associated with each of those steps ensuring that all components are thoroughly detailed. From there we are able to establish effective control measures aimed at mitigating these risks. By prioritizing safety from the outset, we ensure a structured approach to maintaining a secure working environment throughout the project's duration.
The next step for ensuring a culture of safety and efficiency is Anchorage’s tailor-made Daily Toolbox Meetings, which serve as a crucial communication tool at the commencement of each workday. Our Daily Toolbox Meetings have been designed to fit the environment we work in and are set to have our workers cover all areas of risk associated with their environments and projects. These plans articulate the key points of the SWMS, outlining responsibilities pertaining to safety, productivity, and quality. By establishing a clear framework at the start of the day, Daily Toolbox Meetings build an environment where all team members are aligned on expectations and plans. These meetings facilitate a thorough review of site hazards.
Anchorage equips our staff with crucial skills and competencies through training and education. This incorporates diverse training methods, ensuring all personnel are thoroughly prepared to perform safely and effectively in their designated roles. With a culture of continuous development, we highlight our commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of our workforce
